The Last Minute Knit

Knit sweaters work well to bulk up a slim winter wardrobe. Since we are at the tail end of the Fall/Winter shopping season, now is a great time to scoop knits from  J.Crew, Gap, and for up to 60 percent off regular price. If you are looking for incentives to buy; thin, bright knits make awesome layering pieces for Spring and grainy neutrals can serve as comfy pull-on pieces for movie dates and girls nights-in.

Be well,

{Editor’s Picks} Memorial Day Must Haves

Memorial Day Must Haves

Memorial Day is a day to remember our fallen soldiers and is the unofficial kick off to sun-drenched summer festivities. From Coney Island to free concerts in the park to laying out at the shore, we’re gearing up with these new essentials. My personal favorite is the {sexy} maxi dress. Emphasize on ‘sexy’, as this summer is all about the barely there, backless, make him stare maxi.

The tote bag is up next, as long as its outfitted with razzle dazzle embellishments  inspired by some exotic tropical escape, you’re endless-summer ready. And of course, we can’t forget about the bikini. Whether your petite and busty, tall and boy-shaped, or average height with a few extra curves, you’re sure to find a suit that screams “summa’ time!” As long as you’ve got these, the rest is just gravy.

Have a Great Memorial Day Weekend!

Editor’s Picks: March Must Haves For Him

march mens

March is a month of swift transition. From down coats and boots to trenches and loafers, the bulk of us are gradually trading out our winter duds for spring must haves. This week we’re doing something for the Fellas with these 7 key items:

The hooded leather jacket and bright v-neck sweater are equally quintessential and make great options for chilly Spring nights. The option to pair them with casual khakis and a modern leather shoe doubles the investment. We chose a few accessories including a lite cologne by Lacoste, aviators, and a cool timepiece by Fossil to wear all year ’round.

You know guys, no muss-no fuss.

Editor’s Picks: Cecily’s Closet Essentials

Closet Essentials

In honor of our favorite red tag deal specialist Miss Cecily Carson, we’ve taken a note from her fashion closet and scoped out some of her most coveted essentials. Cecily’s favorite color is purple, so its only natural that we would find a closet full of deep plums and fuchsias in dresses, tops and shoes. Miss Carson is known for her fierce animal print accents, including her shoes. A loose white tee & leggings are each go-to pieces for easy days and club nights. Last but not least, Cecily keeps a heavily studded, cognac bag and a pair of funky sunglasses in rotation for work and play. When styled, each piece showcases our girl’s bubbly personality, hence the word “essential”. Follow Cecily on Twitter @ TheRealCecily .

The Big 6 Designers to Watch in 2012

SIX designers to watch

Happy New Year everyone! With a little faith and a go-getter attitude, 2012 will be thee year of prosperity (as I am embarking on an ‘NYC or Bust’ quest to fashion pr super stardom) for all that dare to be chic. In honor of this sure to-be kept new year’s resolution, we dubbed a few of our favorite designers the big 6 to watch in two-thousand and twelve.

Jason Wu tops our list. Wu’s designs first caught our eye in 2010 on the feminine physique of First Lady Michelle Obama and has since become a go-to fashion house for dreamy inspiration. Cynthia Rowley has always been a favorite of ours, having spotted and adored her sophisticated handbags and accessory designs in countless ad campaigns and editorial spreads. Shoe designer Brian Atwood makes us swoon with his sexy celeb adorned styles.

Henri Bendel offers everything from kitchy to classic pieces that shine even in the dark. And Sang A says new school with heavily embossed handbags. Rounding out our list is A.L.C. Worn by our all time favorite fashion girl, Rihanna, A.L.C.’s relaxed separates and slinky jersey dresses make spring the sexiest season ever.
